Installation For Windows 98/ME/2000/XP 1. Ensure that Java Runtime 6.0 or above is installed. Java Runtime 6.0 can be downloaded freely from java.sun.com. 2. Run the bueasy2307x_install.exe file. Follow the instructions from the installer. For Linux 1. Ensure that Java Runtime 6.0 or above is installed. Java Runtime 6.0 can be downloaded freely from java.sun.com. 2. Unzip the bueasy2307x.zip to a target directory. DO NOT unzip the bueasy2307x.jar file! 3. Create a shortcut to bueasy2307x.jar. Backup Easy can be started from the shortcut like other application. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Usage Backup Easy is used to backup (copy) directories from source drives to the target folder. On the "File" panel, select the target directory with the "Browse" button. Select the source directories or files with the "Add" button, delete with the "Delete" button. Save the selection with the "Save" button. Backup can be started with the "Backup" button. Exit the application with the "Close" button and minimize it with the "Hide" button. Select "Local" to backup to a local or LAN drive and select "REMOTE" to backup to FTP server or SSH server. For remote backup using ftp, set the ftp server, username and password in the "Remote" panel. Press the "Test" button to test the connection. In the "File" panel, select "Remote" from the Combo Box and press the "Backup" button to start backup. Select "Use SSL" if your ftp server is configure to use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for secure file transfer. Select "Use SSH" if your are backing up to a SFTP server. In the "Setting" panel, select the weekday(s) automatic backup is to run. Select the hour and minute. Select "Automatic backup" if automatic backup is to be used. Save the setting with the "Save" button. Do not exit the application for automatic backup! Hide it instead. Select "Backup Modified Files Only" to backup modified files only to save time. Select "Include Full Path" to copy the files according to the directory structure on the source computer. Select "Hide on Start Up" to hide the console. Select "Backup on Start Up" to backup automatically after a preset time in seconds when the program is loaded. This only applies when the backup is selected as "Local". Select "Exit after Backup" to close the program after an automatic backup on start up. For FTP, the port used is port 21. For FTPS, the port used is 990. These are defaults on FileZilla server. For SFTP server, the default port is 22. These port settings can be input manually.
